AMPAC Industrial Park – Iron County, Utah
As a result of the relocation of the ammonium perchlorate manufacturing facilities from Henderson, Nevada, to Iron County, Utah, in 1988, AMPAC was able to acquire nearly 5,000 acres for future industrial development surrounding these facilities. Today, the area is home to Western Electrochemical Company (WECCO), Halotron, PEPCON Systems, American Azide and other divisions of American Pacific Corporation. Industrial companies today are increasingly demanding rail service at their new sites. AMPAC Industrial Park is currently served by the Union Pacific Railroad. American Pacific Corporation, Union Pacific and other industrial property owners in the area continue to collaborate in making this area one of the more conducive rail-served industrial areas in the western U.S. as demand for industrial property and rail is on the rise.
